December 9th performance in Manila moves to Araneta Coliseum...

October 19, 2012

Local promoters Ovation Productions confirmed today that the Sting: Back to Bass concert previously scheduled at the Mall of Asia Arena will now be held at the Araneta Coliseum. There is no change to the show date, which remains Sunday, December 9th, 2012.

Back to Bass features Sting performing many of his greatest hits, stripped down, with a 5-piece band featuring his longtime guitarist Dominic Miller, Vinnie Colaiuta (drums), David Sancious (keyboards) Peter Tickell (electric fiddle), and Jo Lawry (vocals).

Tickets may be exchanged beginning October 25, 2012.

Fans who had previously purchased a reserved seat ticket will receive a reserved ticket for the new venue. Reserved seat tickets have been carefully reassigned so that fans that had a reserved ticket at the MOAA will receive a comparable reserved ticket in the new venue.

Beginning Thursday, October 25th there will be a special window at the Ticketnet Office located at the Araneta Coliseum that will handle all ticket exchanges. Fans may exchange their tickets up to and including show date but we recommend that this be done in advance to avoid lengthy queues.

If a refund is required due to the change in venue, these tickets must be refunded at SM Tickets no later than Sunday, November 18, 2012.

Tickets for Sting’s concert at the Araneta Coliseum will go on sale beginning October 25, 2012. Ticket prices remain 1030.00 (General Admission), 3700.00, 5,810.00, 7920.00, 10,560.00 and 15,840.00 PHP.. Tickets are available at all Ticketnet outlets or could be purchased online at or call 911-5555 for info.

Ovation Productions and Live Nation Global Touring apologize for any inconvenience to fans as a result of the venue change.

Make it a 2 day concert in Manila
I have been calling ticketnet everyday and they have not yet decided when to sell the tickets for the new venue. I have seen you perform twice, 1994 Ten Summoners Tale Tour and 1996 Mercury Falling Tour. I kept those two tickets and even have a framed concert poster of the 1996 Mercury Falling Tour displayed in my room. I want to see you perform again in Manila after 16 years. I'm sure another day added in your Manila tour will still be sold-out.

Smart Araneta Coliseum
@Mikaela please have your facts straight/complete first. MVP is not connected to Araneta Coliseum other than on a marketing standpoint. Araneta Coliseum is in now way connected to Philex Mining. Smart just paid Araneta Coliseum a sum of money to have the brand name SMART attached to Araneta Coliseum.

Ticket Exchange
Hi! I have been calling Ticketnet since the announcement above was made and they have not been able to provide details on the mechanics of the ticket exchange procedure, not even the window we should proceed to. I also just called this morning and according to the person from Ticketnet, their admin office released an email stating that there would be NO ticket exchanges today. I really hope someone could act on this...

Dear Sting, Bully for you for cancelling your show at the Mall of Asia, Philippines. Be forewarned, however, that the venue you are transfering your show to - the Araneta Coliseum - is known as "The Araneta-SMART Coliseum". The coliseum is associated with SMART, which is a telecom company owned by Manny Pangilinan. Manny Pangilinan is also the majority owner and CEO of PHILEX MINING. PHILEX MINING has recently been found to have been releasing dangerous amounts of mining tailing which is toxic and dangerous to the health of humans. POLLUTER OF MOTHER NATURE! You may want to change your mind - and rightly so - about holding your concert in the Araneta (Araneta-SMART)Coliseum.

This is GREAT news!!! Now I could watch the concert. I do not support all businesses owned & operated by the children of Henry Sy. They SAY they care for the environment BUT when it comes to corporate decisions, MONEY comes FIRST!!! They have massacred hundreds, if not thousands of trees in the course of building their malls & condos. In my community alone, they cut more than 100 50-year old trees just to build a mall. Thay have more than 50 maalls and condos all over the country. Imagine how many trees they have murdered?!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH STING!!! MABUHAY!!![long live] I hope other artists would follow your lead... [JLo, c'mon!!!]

Having lost his heart to Italy, Sting had resigned himself to the fact that his family was unable to find a suitable home in the country. They had gone on one fruitless exploration after another and there seemed to be no hope. Then Trudie Styler told her husband of a new house up for sale close to the medieval town of Figline Valdarno in Tuscany. To their amazement, Trudie and Sting walked along a cypress-lined avenue right up to the saffron-yellow house of their dreams. They found a home for their family and obtained a farm into the bargain. Its main produce is packed into tens of thousands of bottles each year. When FINE visited Il Palagio for this exclusive interview, the atmosphere at the estate was expectant. The closing lunch of the Divino Tuscany festival, which celebrates winemaking excellence, good music and dear friends, was to be served under marquees on Trudie and Sting's property. With hundreds of guests about to arrive, the host couple still had time to recall the early days of their wine-producing career and the events leading up to their decision to start growing wine...
